How are the episode ratings scaled? Overall series ratings?

Does 2.0/4 stars mean it’s an average anime episode? Or is it 1.5/4 stars? Not everyone has the same criteria despite having the same scale. Here is my interpretation of the 4 star rating scale:

4.0 : Perfect

3.5 : Excellent

3.0 : Great

2.5 : Above Average

2.0 : Average

1.5: Below Average

1.0 : Poor

0.5 : Bad

None : Painful

When I write a series review for an anime, I consider in detail the Animation, Story, Characters, Music and my Gut Feeling Rating. All of that is factored to get a rating out of 10. Average the Animation, Story, Characters and Music ratings to get the first average. Then average that with the Gut Feeling Rating to get the final episode rating. To deal with the obvious bias, I have included the Average Series Rating with and without the Gut Feeling Rating for every series review. Here is an explanation of my series rating scale out of 10:

10.0 : Perfect

9.0 : Excellent

8.0 : Very Good

7.0 : Good

6.0 : Average

5.0 : Below Average

4.0 : Poor

3.0 : Bad

2.0 : Very Bad

1.0 : Painful
